The lady from PA with the "creative offer" got on a plane and flew back to PA after deciding that she couldn't live so close to power lines. I would not have even noticed them if she hadn't brought it up. Seriously. They aren't even that close. Ah well. I have a a few other people interested, but no contract yet. It is a great deal, in a really nice neighborhood (2 seconds to the ocean), and all it needs is a paint job. I will be very surprised if it is not sold by the end of the weekend. The property is in Dunedin, which is quite far from Tampa, and, as per usual, I had a fantastic time getting to and fro. Well, actually, the "to" part wasn't a problem (thank you, MapQuest). The problem arose when I decided that I just HAD to check out the cute and quaint downtown Dunedin that I've heard so much about................
(is it not adorable?)
Downtown Dunedin was only about a block and a half away from the property, but I'm sure you can guess what happened once I veered away from my trusty and printer-friendly MapQuested directions. Somehow, I ended up in South St. Pete, which is a long, long way from where I thought I was headed............
Tampa is pretty much in the middle of the map, Dunedin is straight across (West) and a little North. And then there is St. Pete, which, if you'll notice, is WAY, WAY South of where I needed to be. How does this happen to me every single time I get into the car? I have no idea, but I can tell you it is incredibly frustrating- especially while I'm tooling along, thinking I am headed towards Tampa, and then all of a sudden I see a "St. Petersburg, 3 miles" sign in the distance. At least I had gas money on me this time.
I got a counter back today from one of the REO offers I made yesterday, and actually, I'm pretty shocked. The property has only been listed for about a month for $99,900. It is in the same neighborhood as the 85k house, so I know I need to get it for around 80k or less (it needs more work than mine, and is in a crappier area). Anyway, I offered 75k, and they came back with a counter of 90k (within 24 hours, which is also shocking). I've never had a bank come down so low on a property that has only been listed 30 days. I'm heading out tomorrow to get a better look at the inside.
In other news, my dog, Jim, came out of the closet at the dog park today. I had my suspicions - what with the way he proudly sports that purple bandana I make him wear.
As long as he's happy, I'm happy.

LOL. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. I can't tell you how many times I drove around in the dark and rain trying to convince my wife (and myself) that I knew where I was going. Glad you made it home safe, though.
Steph,
This is great stuff:o)Keep getting those deals! BTW, maybe you should invest in GPS, perhaps?LOL
Hi Steph,
found your blog thru flippinghomes and just going thru your blog. You seem to get lost alot. I'm not caught up to your present blog so don't know if anyone has suggested this or not, but I believe you can get gps on your blackberry(for a monthly fee). Also my uncle(who is tech savy) has a Garmin that he swears by. Get the one that has the bluetooth built in.
Hope this helps..
