In light of my recent realization that the amount of work I do has absolutely no effect on the amount of deals I get, I decided to take the day off and hang out with Mother Nature. It was a great day. My friend and I drove up to the Weeki Wachee river and went snorkeling. It is a spring fed river, so it is crystal clear and cold as heck. It was a really hot day, so it was perfect. Peace and quiet. No faxes, no emails, no Blackberry. Just me and the river (and a few beers :0). Sometimes there are manatees in the river, but we didn't see any yesterday.
I just got a counter offer in via fax. The sellers have come down another 20k from their original list price, which was already well below market. I'm trying to get a hold of my friend to get his opinion, but I can't reach him. I'm also waiting on two other counters to come in from REOs. The numbers are getting pretty close, but not quite good enough.
By the end of the weekend, I should have about 100 offers made. I was hoping to get a deal out of 100, we shall see. At least I'm getting close. Maybe by the time I make 1000 offers I will have one. I wonder if there is a Guiness Book category for the most mls offers made without getting a deal. Maybe I should give them a call. Surely I have to be getting close to the record, no?
