5/20/2007

My well planned out day turned to shit pretty fast yesterday. My plans were to put some ads on Craigslist for some properties I'm marketing, put some signs up around the properties, then go to my farm area and put out a bunch of fliers and the rest of my bandit signs. So, right after I put the ads on Craigslist, my phone starts ringing- awesome. Only problem is, I can't answer it because my new phone is completely frozen. You have to be effing kidding me. So, after trying everything possible to get it to work, I realized I was going to have to go to the Verizon store to have them fix it. This place is always jam packed, and being a Saturday, I figured it would be even worse. I was right. It took about a half hour to talk to the one person who was technical support. I came really close to throwing the phone at the wall at one point, but managed to control myself. I'm not kidding, I really almost threw it I was so ticked off. So, the guy tells me to come back in an hour and it "should" be ready. I then went and put out the handwritten signs I made around one of the properties I'm trying to sell, then drove back to Verizon. It was actually fixed, so I only ended up wasting about 2 hours. I drove back to my farm area and put out the rest of my signs. Between yesterday and the day before, I put out 40 signs in this area. They are all over the place. I can't say I'm happy that I haven't received 1 single call from them, but I'm sure they will come.

Oh, I forgot to mention that while I was at Verizon, they let me know that my bill for next month is $800.00. I'm not kidding. Apparently I was getting charged for roaming while I was traveling even though I made sure to call first before I left to make sure there were no roaming charges with my plan. Hilarious. I just started laughing, and I think the guy thought I was crazy. Not sure how I'm going to handle this one, but there's no way in heck I'm paying 800 bucks for a phone bill.

While I was out putting signs up, my friend that I'm staying with decided to do me a favor and do some laundry for me. Bless his heart. He didn't know that a lot of my stuff needs to be hung to dry or it will shrink and be ruined. Well, he ruined half of my wardrobe. Good stuff, huuh?

I have some referral fees coming my way, and a 2k assignment that I should be getting on the 6th of next month, but things are going to be a little tight until then. I may have to ask my Dad for a loan, which will make me feel like a big fat loser, but I don't have much of a choice.

Not sure what I am going to do today. I think I will go get the Sunday paper and make some calls. I also have a list of abandoned properties, and have been sending letters to the owners. I haven't received a call yet from them, so I'm thinking of either getting their phone number and calling them up, or, if they are local, going to their door and asking if they want to sell. Some of the letters have been returned, and I have a friend who can do skip traces for me, so I think this might be a potential good source of leads. I have some fliers that I want to distribute in my farm area, but it didn't go too well yesterday. The area is a semi-rough part of town, and I got propositioned a few times yesterday while walking around, so I think I am going to 86 that plan.

Oh, I forgot to mention, yesterday when I got my phone back, the first email I received was from this moron named Don telling me he was going to report me to the Attorney General for putting my "Cash for Houses" ad on Craigslist. I guess some people don't have anything better to do with their time.
