I picked out a loft that I wanted to look at today. I took one of my realtor friends along. We called first to get the showing instructions. The idiot realtor told us it was on electronic lockbox (said this in the listing, too), and he told us we could go in any time- it is vacant. So, we get to the building, and need a code or key to get in. We don't have one. We call the realtor, who doesn't pick up his phone, so we had to stand there until somebody came out the front door and was nice enough to let us in. The builiding is cool as heck, I love it, and I haven't even seen the unit yet (although I saw lots of pictures online). Once we get up to the 3rd floor and to the right place, we see that the lockbox is coded- not electronic. So, we call the moron of a realtor again, and this time he has his phone off. We tried all of the common codes on the lockbox, but they didn't work, so we decided to go grab lunch, and surely this joker would call back. No such luck. We call the realtor's office to see if anyone there can help us, and after being on hold for 10 minutes or so they tell us to try the code 2468. So, we go back to the building, wait outside for another 10 minutes for someone to let us in, and go back upstairs to try the code. We are both pretty ticked off by this point. Of course it doesn't work, so we ended up going home. Still haven't heard from the stupid a$$ realtor. All that aside, I absolutely LOVE this place, and haven't even been inside yet. I'm getting a place here, come hell or high water. It's in the Channelside district, right next to the Port of Tampa. You can see the cruise ships from the 12 foot windows. I'm thinking that I can get in one of these on a lease option. There are a lot of units up for sale, and a ton more being built. I'm pretty sure I can find a motivated seller and get in with some decent terms. I'm not really concerned with getting a great deal (equity wise), as long as the payments are affordable. They also accept dogs up to 75lbs, so Jim is covered. Tomorrow I'm going to an open house at one of the other units. It's a FSBO, so I'll get to talk to the owner, and maybe plant a seed or two about a L/O. I'll keep checking back wiith him, and maybe when I'm ready to move out, he'll be ready to negotiate.
I didn't really do much else today as far as marketing. My phone has been really, really quiet lately. That's not good. Well, at least my phone bill won't be $800.
I was going to watch "Rudy" tonight, but Jim decided to eat that, too. Out of 100 movies, and he has to pick that one.
